Hotels on the brink

Since the pandemic began, nearly 200 hotels have closed, thousands of jobs have been lost, and billions-of-dollars in economic activity has evaporated.

Without a lifeline, more hotels will close and more New Yorkers will lose their jobs. If we don’t act now, many of those jobs may not come back for years, if ever.

Saving hotels
will help NYC
recover faster

If we allow hotels to close, New York will not recover nearly as fast as it could from COVID-19, costing us jobs and tax dollars that pay for public safety and public health

Saving hotels would be a downpayment on our recovery. The more hotels we can keep open, the more visitors we can eventually bring back to New York, lifting our economy.

Temporary relief from the City
can save hotels

Common sense measures like property tax debt relief and assessments that more fairly represent the current value of hotels will keep hotels open and workers employed.

its hotels to recover.
